trial flight – tandem with NZ Champion instructors

If you are not sure if you want to learn flying solo or not, you can initially skip the exercise of training and get your first introduction to paragliding by flying with one of our out-standing instructors in an advanced flight which otherwise only very experienced pilots get to enjoy. You can also give this experience as a gift with our beautiful gift vouchers. On a tandem flight with our instructor, you can see what paragliding is all about, enjoy the best of it and see what the courses aim at.

During the flight you get to enjoy the most amazing countryside from a point of view which is entirely unique to free flyers like us – and birds. Listen only to the wind in your lines, the song of the birds and perhaps the waves below you.

We will soar along e.g. the wonderful West Coast of the Auckland region, stay up for at least 20-30 mins, gain height, enjoy the sensation of free flying and the wonderful view. We will introduce you to the basics of paragliding, how to use lift, how to turn, hand over the controls for a little if you are up to it and the conditions suit.

Your flight can be as calm and cruisy as you like, or wilder and more exciting teaching some descent techniques such as wing overs and spirals if the conditions allow. Your pilot will customise the experience to what you would like.

Our pilots have extensive experience flying with disabled passengers. In some cases, we only fly at certain sites and in certain conditions, but nearly anything is possible, so please contact us to discuss the options.

We can cater for passengers of a huge range of body weights, but we need to know in advance if you are less than 50kg or more than 100kg, so that we can ensure to have the right equipment and pilot ready for you.

We cannot guarantee that you won't be addicted to paragliding after this, so perhaps you wish to continue learning afterwards. Many before got the bug of flying and carried on learning.

locations

We use different flying and teaching sites around Auckland, all beautiful, wonderfully scenic, especially when you get to experience them from our privileged point of view, from the sky. They are located within an hour of the city.

Every day, we pick the ideal site according to the wind and weather conditions on the day to give you the best and safest experience. We ultimately decide in the morning, which site to use and times to meet.  Call us at 9am in the morning! It best if you are flexible to travel to increase your chance for a great day out.

Many sites are rather remote, so please make sure to be organised for a day with food and lots of drink. Wear comfy clothing according to the temperatures; most essential is good footwear of hiking boots or well treaded sports shoes and a wind-breaking jacket, plus sun protection.

Once you book, we will send you a more details info sheet about your day.
